Unable to secure additional funding, the magazine was placed on hold in the autumn of 1969. It was never discontinued. It was always my intention to resurrect “Perihelion” when the opportunity arose. I went on to pursue a career as a magazine editor, writer, crossword constructor, software developer, and a few other things. Some forty years later, following several lengthy telephone calls and emails with magazine co-founder Eric M. Jones, realizing that my retirement and the Internet provided highly favorable conditions for an online magazine, “Perihelion” returned on November 12, 2012.
